From a young age, I always dreamed of being a children’s entertainer. Studying theatre studies fueled that passion, and I imagined a future where I could bring joy, laughter, and learning to kids through performance. But, like many, life took me in different directions—I traveled, worked in banking, built a successful career in recruitment, and later trained as a coach.

It wasn’t until we had concerns about our son's emotional intelligence (EI) that everything came full circle for me. He excelled academically, but there were signs he might be struggling with emotional awareness and regulation. This was a wake-up call. I began researching, reading, listening to lots of material EI and EQ related. I discovered how crucial emotional intelligence is—not just for kids, but for adults too.
EQ (emotional intelligence) is just as important, if not more, than IQ. It impacts friendships, self-esteem, resilience, and even future success. Yet, it’s something many of us were never taught in school.
As my family started implementing EQ-building practices at home, we saw incredible improvements—not just in my son, but in ourselves too. This journey made me realise I wanted to share what I had learned with other parents and children in a fun, engaging way. And so, ‘Laz and Lucky’ was born—a show that combines entertainment with invaluable life lessons on emotions, empathy, and social skills.
My goal is to make emotional intelligence something every child can learn in an easy, accessible, and fun way. I also hope parents watching will feel supported in guiding their little ones through these important life skills.
